Last night on American Idol, Candice Glover was named the new “American Idol” and she beat out Kree Harrison to claim the title. After her win she performed her single "I Am Beautiful." Last night’s show also marked the swan song for judge Randy Jackson. He made his last appearance at the judges table after being part of the show for all 12 seasons. The finale also marked the return of former judge, Jennifer Lopez took the stage to perform her latest single along with Pitbull. Meanwhile, Keith Urban told People, “I would love to return to ‘Idol’. I mean, I literally enjoy coming to work every day and that’s a rarity.”
NBC has locked down judges for the next two cycles of The Voice. Shakira and Usher won’t be back in the fall and this fall’s edition will reunite the original lineup: Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and, yes, Cee Lo Green. In addition, Carson Daly will return as host for both cycles. For next spring, cycle 6, The Voice will then switch back to its current lineup, and finalizing deals with Shakira and Usher, who will take the stage along with Levine and Shelton.
Looks like the 2013-2014 television season will be a rebuilding year for SNL. Sources at NBC confirmed to the New York Post that longtime castmember Fred Armisen has decided to exit the sketch show after 11 seasons. That same source tells thePost that SNL veteran Jason Sudeikis will “probably” leave the show as well this year. If Armisen and Sudeikis do say goodbye in SNL‘s 38th season finale this weekend, they’ll join fellow departing cast member Bill Hader, who announced his own exit earlier this week.
