Jay-Z has confirmed that he sold his ownership stake in the Brooklyn Nets. Jay was forced to sell his investment in the team so that he could become a sports agent with his new Roc Nation sports. In a letter posted on his site Life + Times, he wrote, "It was never about an investment; it was about the NETS and Brooklyn. My job as an owner is over but as a fan it has just begun. For Roc Nation Sports to function at its full potential, NBA rules stipulate that I relinquish my ownership in the Brooklyn Nets." He ended with, "Congratulations to The Nets on a great season and making the playoffs! I will always be a Brooklyn Net."
Mayor Bloomberg wrote the commendation for the hip-hop mogul, whose real name is Shawn Carter, in Time's annual list of the 100 most influential people. Bloomberg wrote "Jay-Z embodies so much of what makes NY, NY.A kid from a tough neighborhood who grows up in public housing, overcomes lots of bad influences on the street, never lets go of his dream, makes it to the top -- and then keeps going, pursuing new outlets for his creativity and ambition.” Other NY figures who made the list include designer Michael Kors, late-night comedians Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel, Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan and Kickstarter founder Perry Chen.

She has come to his defense after he visited the Anne Frank Museum and wrote in the guestbook “Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber.” She said, "She probably would have been a fan. Why not? He's a young man and she was a young girl, and she liked film stars and music. They make a lot of fuss about everything that is connected to Anne Frank."
By the way, the on-again off-again romance between Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez may be heating up again. According to TMZ, Selena was spotted on a flight from LA to Oslo, Norwaywhich just happens to be where Justin is playing a show. The two broke up last year but have hooked up several times since.
