Former South African president and civil rights icon Nelson Mandela passed away at his home shortly before midnight last night. He was 95-years-old. Mandela had been ill for sometime and had spent several months in the hospital since this summer. Mandela became the face of the anti-apartheid movement spending 27 years as a political prisoner before being released in 1990. Four years later he was elected president in South Africa's first ever free elections and he also won the Nobel Peace Price in 1993 for his efforts. RIP.
One of the promotional appearances Lady Gaga made while hyping her album ARTPOP involved showing up at midnight for the opening of H&M's new flagship store here in Times Square. The store is carrying the disc, along with H&M's array of clothing and accessories. The New York Post claims that Gaga was paid 500 thousand bucks to appear at the opening, and since she stayed for an hour and 40 minutes, she essentially earned $5,000 per minute for her troubles. Gaga arrived at the store on a double-decker bus, cut the ribbon, and shopped for half an hour with 20 lucky fans, some of whom had been lining up for more than 30 hours to catch a glimpse of her.
Christina Aguilera is set to perform on The Voice this Tuesday. The Voice coach will perform “We Remain” from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’s soundtrack at 9 pm.

Brian The Dog will be returning to Family Guy. Brian will pop back up on the December 15th episode. How Brian will come back from the dead is unknown, but he will continue to play a role on the show. For those who missed the November 24th episode, Brian was given a proper burial after being run over by a car. Stewie, who had destroyed his time machine, was unable to acquire a titanium capacitor to build another device, preventing him from changing the course of the day.
