-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Beware April Fool's Jokes Tomorrow!
Here are some of the greatest April Fool's pranks of all time:
In 1957, the BBC news show Panorama announced that thanks to a very mild winter and the virtual elimination of the dreaded spaghetti weevil, Swiss farmers were enjoying a bumper spaghetti crop. They then showed footage of Swiss peasants pulling strands of spaghetti down from trees. Huge numbers of viewers were fooled, and many called up wanting to know how they could grow their own spaghetti trees. The BBC replied that they should "place a sprig of spaghetti in a tin of tomato sauce and hope for the best."
In 1996, the Taco Bell Corporation announced that it had bought the Liberty Bell and was renaming it the Taco Liberty Bell. Hundreds of outraged citizens called the National Historic Park in Philadelphia to express their anger. They were only calmed when Taco Bell revealed that it was all a joke a few hours later. The best line inspired by the hoax came from White House press secretary Mike McCurry. When asked about the sale, he responded that the Lincoln Memorial had also been sold and would now be known as the Ford Lincoln Mercury Memorial.
And finally, in 1998, Burger King published a full-page ad in USA Today announcing the new "Left-Handed Whopper," a burger designed specifically for the 32 million left-handed Americans. According to the ad, the new Whopper included the same indgredients as the original Whopper, but all of the condiments were rotated 180 degrees to benefit their left-handed customers. The following day, Burger King issued a follow-up release revealing that even though the Left-Handed Whopper was a hoax, thousands of customers had requested the new sandwich.

An 18-year-old man entered a muffler shop on Monday and declared a robbery. He waved a gun around and demanded money. When he was told the money was in a safe and that the manager who knew how to open it was not there, he came up with a brilliant idea. Well, he thought it was brilliant.
He gave the shop employees his cell phone number and asked them to give him a call when the manager arrived so that he could open the safe.
The employees? They called 911.
The cops? They placed plain-clothes officers at the shop and called back the robber.
The robber? He showed up, waved his gun around, and ended up getting shot in the leg. And arrested, too.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Employers and Facebook
In England, some leading charities are calling for companies to be banned from checking out Facebook and other social networking sites for information on job applicants. They want a new law to prevent companies and colleges from digging up "digital dirt" on potential recruits.
Studies show that one in five employers use the internet to check out candidates and two-thirds of those admit that their final decision has been influenced by what they found.
The charities are arguing that it's the same as snooping around in someone's diary and are examining whether existing discrimination laws could be used to prevent this.
