Cycle for Survival is the high-energy indoor team cycling event
that provides a tangible way to beat rare cancers. More than half of people diagnosed with cancer have a rare form of the disease. New Yorker Stacey Cunz is a Thyroid cancer survivor. The 35-year-old was diagnosed two years ago. This will be Stacey's third year participating in Cycle for Survival to raise awareness and funds for rare cancer research. Dr. Diane Reidy–Lagunes, a board-certified medical oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering and is a member of the National Cancer Institute neuroendocrine tumor task force and the Neuroendocrine Tumor Biospecimen Consortium. She will talk about her involvement with Cycle for Survival. Aileen Rodriguez is the President of the Duane Reade Charity Foundation and speaks about Duane Reade and their partnership with Memorial Sloan Kettering. Yvonne’s Hope 4 Change Transitional Housing of Newark, NJ was founded by Melissa Grant who has both the practical experience and the education to lead the organization. Yvonne’s Hope is a start-up not for profit social service agency serving the greater Essex County area. Yvonne’s Hope 4 Change Transitional Housing of Newark is an organization that provides a long term transitional housing for pregnant women or women with children, ranging from the ages of 18-29. It will allow the single Mothers to be able to get a College degree without any worries of stability and also help build these girls up and groomed them to become women! This organization will also help take the weight off of our Government and independently take care of themselves and their children.
