Queens' Forest Park Carousel Receives NYC Landmark Status
Posted Wednesday, June 26th 2013 @ 10am

The Forest Park Carousel in Woodhaven, Queens has gained landmark status. According to the Associated Press, the Landmarks Preservation Commission unanimously declared the 100-year-old carousel a landmark on Tuesday.

The Queens carousel features 46 colorful hand-carved horses, along with a lion, tiger, and deer. The Forest Park Carousel is the third amusement ride in NYC to be named a landmark. The other two are Coney Island's Wonder Wheel and Cyclone rides.
