Justin Timberlake is the latest celebrity to take on the “Ice Bucket Challenge” and dump freezing water over his head to raise awareness for ALS. The singer passed the challenge on to Jimmy Fallon, Steve Higgins, and The Roots before he and his back-up band The Tennessee Kids doused themselves with water. The world is mourning the loss of iconic Hollywood actress Lauren Bacall. She passed away yesterday of a massive stroke at her longtime home - The Dakota in New York City. She was 89 years old. The sultry actress rose to prominence with roles in “Key Largo,” “Designing Women” and “The Mirror Has Two Faces.” She was the wife of Humphrey Bogart and is survived by 3 children.
At a press conference in San Rafael, California, the county's assistant chief coroner said Robin Williams was discovered slouched in his bedroom with a belt wrapped around his neck. A pocket knife was found near his body and small cuts were revealed on his left wrist. The official cause of death is listed as "asphyxia and suicide due to hanging." He was last seen alive by his wife, Susan Schneider Sunday night when she went to bed. She woke up the next morning and left, thinking he was still asleep elsewhere in the home. Shortly after that, Williams’ personal assistant came to the home and became concerned when he failed to respond to knocks at a door. The assistant found the 63-year-old actor clothed and dead in a bedroom. A final ruling on Williams’ death will be made once toxicology reports and interviews with witnesses are complete.
Fans of Robin Williams have turned a bench where Williams and Matt Damon shared a scene in the classic Boston movie Good Will Hunting into a makeshift memorial Monday night, leaving flowers and writing quotes from the film on the ground. A petition has been created to place a bronze statue of Williams seated at the iconic bench.
Lifetime has announced the premiere of the made-for-TV movie called The Brittany Murphy Story and it will air Saturday night September 6th. The biopic will cover the actresses rise and fall in Hollywood. She died five years ago and the coroner ruled her unusual death at 32 – was due to pneumonia even though several prescription drugs were in her system.

Justin Bieber has reportedly made arrangements to plead guilty to reduced charges of “careless driving and resisting arrest without violence” stemming from his DUI arrest case in Florida. The judge will send Bieber back to school and sentence him to anger management class. Bieber will also write a check of $50,000 to a charity and his attorneys will enter the plea. Bieber is not scheduled to appear in court.
Last year, Courtney Stodden filed for legal separation from former Lost star Doug Hutchison after 9 months of marriage. Now the 19-year-old is ready to settle back into married life. Stodden’s mom and manager said, “She got a taste of being single when she went to the Big Brother house in the U.K. She did date, but she found out that she really, really loves Doug and he’s the one she wants to spend the rest of her life with.”
Zac Efron offered fans his first-ever car, plus the chance to test drive it with him, in exchange for their contribution to the Make-A-Wish foundation. The actor announced the giveaway in a Twitter photo Monday where he appears posing next to his car with a sign that reads: “Want my first car? It’s yours!!!” The post also included a link to Efron’s Make-A-Wish website where he explains his plan to “do something unique and fun to give back.”
