Seth Meyers will host the 66th Annual Emmy Awards!

Seth Meyers will host the 66th annual Emmy Awards on August 25th. NBC named the newly minted talk-show host to lead the broadcast yesterday; the same day Meyers revealed he was included on Time's 100 Most Influential People list. Last year's host was Neil Patrick Harris.


American Idol named its five finalists last night on the results show. Host Ryan Seacrest declared Caleb Johnson, Jena Irene, Alex Preston and Sam Woolf all to be safe. But who got the final spot? It came down to CJ Harris and Jessica Meuse. Ultimately, Harris was eliminated for having received the lowest amount of votes.

Justin Bieber returned from Asia to find that re-entering the U.S. would not be easy. The singer was detained at LAX by U.S. Customs officials yesterday. Bieber was detained "for routine secondary questioning" but was not being kept out of the United States. Bieber had reportedly been held for almost four hours inside Tom Bradley International Terminal after flying in from Tokyo while his entourage waited for him, but he was eventually released.

Miley Cyrus has left the hospital after staying for more than a week and has reportedly even planned her next travel to
Europe to resume her Bangerz tour. Cyrus was admitted to a hospital in Kansas City April 15th after having severe allergic reaction to antibiotics for flu. She has canceled several U.S. dates in her tour while updating fans about her condition from the hospital bed. The six U.S. dates that she had canceled will be rescheduled for August.

For those who can’t seem to get enough of Jason Voorhees and his killing sprees, they will now have their fix. The television show version of Friday the 13th is now officially in development. The new Friday the 13th will be an hour-long dramatic series based upon the characters and settings of the movies. The original movie, Friday the 13th was set at a summer camp, closed because of the drowning of an unattended child. Promiscuous counselors tried to re-open the place, but they are killed off one at a time.

The Batman-Superman movie has found it’s Cyborg. Broadway star Ray Fisher, will play Justice League member Cyborg/Victor Stone. The stage actor, known for his role as Muhammad Ali in the play Fetch Clay, Make Man, adds his name to the list. Cyborg is a superhero that is part-man and part-machine. Ben Affleck will be Batman, Henry Cavill - Superman, Jesse Eisenberg - Lex Luthor, Amy Adams -
Lois Lane, Gal Gadot - Wonder Woman, Diane Lane - Martha Kent, and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.

Director Peter Jackson revealed on his Facebook page that he changed the name to the final Hobbit film. Originally called The Hobbit: There and Back Again, the movie, coming out December 17th, is now titled The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.


Here’s what’s breaking out at the movies today. There’s the chick flick “The Other Woman” and the late Paul Walker will also be in theater this weekend with the thriller “Brick Mansions.” There’s also the horror flick “The Quiet Ones.”
