Justin Bieber surrendered to Toronto police last night in connection with an assault charge that stems back to late last year. His dad, Jeremy and manager, Scooter Braun, accompanied him to the station. Bieber was ushered in by a police guard as well as several police officers. Local law enforcement says they were called late on the night of December 29th to an incident involving a limo driver. The driver alleged that a member of Bieber's entourage assaulted him in the back of his head when he was driving Bieber around along with several others. That prompted the driver to stop the limo, get out and call the police. Bieber was charged with assault and needs to appear in court March 10th.
Meanwhile a White House petition to get Bieber deported to Canada has collected more than 100,000 digital signatures. It took only 6 days to generate that many signatures, which is the minimum requirement for the government to review a petition. It reads “We the people of the United States would like to see the dangerous, destructive, and drug abusing Justin Beiber deported and his green card revoked.” It also noted he is a “terrible influence on our nation’s youth.”
